Thomas Oxton

Thomas assists and represents both employers and employees in the Employment Tribunals, dealing on a regular basis with issues relating to unfair dismissal and discrimination complaints. He also has experience of representation in the Employment Appeal Tribunal (Ultra Electronics Ltd v Krishnakumar, 26/9/05, UKEAT/0392/05/DM) and preparing paperwork in connection with appeals.

Thomas's civil practice includes advising and assisting clients in relation to housing and homelessness. His landlord and tenant experience includes representation in the Court of Appeal (Bellcourt Estates Ltd v Adesina [2005] EWCA Civ 208, re surrender of tenancies). Thomas also has experience of assisting clients involved in contractual disputes, or who suffer or are accused of being responsible for civil wrongs ('torts').

Before independent practice Thomas was employed by a legal expenses insurer, providing advice to clients faced with consumer law problems relating to the sale and supply of goods and services, consumer credit and holiday law. He maintains an interest in these legal areas.

Thomas also has considerable experience of RTA related litigation, providing cost-effective assistance to clients involved in credit-hire litigation.

Thomas is qualified to consider assisting clients under the Direct Access scheme.
