Matthew successfully completed his pupillage at 7NSQ part of which was spent working in the legal department of Imperial Innovations, the company responsible for spinning out the intellectual property of Imperial College, where he gained commercial experience in a legal setting.
Matthew has gained experience in various different aspects of contentious and non-contentious areas from advising on and drafting contracts, to interlocutory, appellate and trial advocacy, particularly in the following areas of practice:
Public Law practice:
- Election Law including Applications for Relief and Election Petitions;
- Education Law including applications to the OIA and internal disciplinary matter in Universities
- Judical Review of all types.
- Licensing of all types at Sub-Committee and Appeal stages.
Commercial & Chancery practice including:
- Contract disputes arising out of business to business transactions;
- Insolvency matters both personal and company related
Intellectual Property and computer law and related fields:
- copyright, registered and unregistered design rights,
